Wanted: Artistic Students!

Posted by Kevin Thorp on Thursday, October 18, 2012
We are currently looking students to join the animation/photography subsection of FRC Team 3489. This would be a great learning experience for those interested in animated movies and/or special effects to learn some of the tools of the trade.  Michael Hoatson, our new mentor will be teaching students how to draw story boards, model objects and creatures, create textures, animate and edit. We will be competing for 2 contests: the pre-season Safety Animation Award, and after the Kickoff, the Autodesk Excellence in Design Award.

We will be using Autodesk Maya, 3D animation software used by professionals in the movie, television and video game industries. Click here for more information.

Michael will also be teaching photography to students that are interested.

Our first animation team meeting is Wednesday, Oct. 24, 4:00-7:00 pm at Bosch. Even if you're just curious about joining, please come to this first meeting. We're meeting in building 104. Turn into the first Bosch entrance (at the stoplight). The security guard will give you a badge and directions to our meeting room. No shorts or open-toed shoes are allowed in the plant.

If you have any questions please contact Michael Hoatson, ph. 291-3224, mchgraphics@gmail.com, www.facebook.com/photomch.
